Exceptional resort and hospitality My second time at Tropica this time for a full week. Absolutely perfect place to unwind with the option to snorkel, kayak or use stand up paddle boards.
The staff are simply amazing. Warm and friendly, provide exceptional service and we could not fault anything. The food is simply amazing and each day there was lots of variety and the portion sizes were perfect.
We have stayed in both the Beachfront pool bure and the Sanctuary suite with plunge pool. We loved both of them. Well done for continuing to create a
truly memorable experience and continuing to provide such a welcoming place.
Very sad to leave our Tropica family but rest assured we will be back.Kelly O7/24/2025Tropica felt like visiting family This was our first stay in Fiji and it was a beautiful resort. The grounds and facilities were excellent but the staff really made the resort. Every staff member we ever passed smiled, said bula, asked us how we were going and seemed genuinely happy to be working there.
The included breakfast was lovely, food was always well presented and nice. We had 2 menus to order from for lunch and dinner, that was varied enough, but might have struggled for more than a week. The seafood pier soecial dinner experience was outstanding!! Service, food and environment was very special.
Our only constructive criticism is that this resort could be 4.5 to 5 stars instead if 4, with just a few staff trainings on consistency. Housekeeping was great but never left all replacement towels etc but took all used ones . restaurant staff were lovely, but we never got cup, saucer, teaspoon and milk to go with our breakfast tea or coffee service, such an easy way to step up. They could have sold way more drinks by the pool if they walked around asking if we needed anything. These are tiny things but really would have elevated our experience.
We loved our stay at Tropica and will return. Our beachfront pool burè was stunning and the staff were outstandingly friendly. The transfers they arranged for us were perfectly executed and price was on point for this resort.Byrne Family7/24/2025Top Notch Fiji Hotel One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. Service top notch and staff even better. Greeted and left with local native songs and ceremony. Food excellent. Best in staff was our bar tender Amelia who made us drinks and delivered some of our food. She got to know us and pre made some of our drinks. SUPER kind lady and person. Rooms very clean, large and comfortable. Had our own outdoor shower and private pool. We will definitely go back when we revisit Fiji and Amelia.
Robert B7/24/2025Unforgettable holiday Tropica Island Resort is a little piece of paradise! We lived five dream days for our honeymoon in a wonderful place, characterized by a breathtaking landscape, where you lose track of time!
All the staff was very kind and extremely helpful. We thank, first of all, Viri, the manager of the structure, for meeting our every request! Then we thank Moses and Junior in particular, for their sympathy, the joy they put in their work and for making us feel at home!
A special mention goes to the Chef, we enjoyed all the dishes on the menu!
We will not easily forget this holiday! Bula!Beatrice A7/14/2025Beautiful and Relaxing My husband and I and the pleasure of staying at Tropica during our honeymoon. Upon arrival the staff will great you with a welcome song and beverage. We highly recommend a Burre with a private plunge pool. Be sure to take the kayaks out to "Rock Island". Just beyond Rock Island is some of the most incredible snorkeling you'll ever see. We also recommend taking a sunset cruise at least one night, although you can see a beautiful sunset during happy hour as well. It's just a 15-minute boat ride from Cloud 9, which is a floating bar and a once in a lifetime experience.
Kate S7/12/2025What a beautiful tranquil island with the most beautiful genuinely friendly staff in every part of the resort. This island resort is so tranquil and raw The beach bure’s with a plunge pool are so beautiful and the staff are so genuine and friendly giving a 5 star service. The moment you step foot on the island you relax into Fiji time. There are many activities to choose from and the spa is great. One of the BEST facials i have ever had, the Tropica Signature Facial by my therapist Quinine. I was transported to another zone, i have had many facials over the years but nothing beats this, she works magic with her hands, amazing relaxing massage. So, so grateful what a treat! A must when staying at this resort. Thank again from Sweet Caroline. Note: if
you are looking for a white sandy beach this island doesnt have it but has so much more. Great relaxing stay!Caroline M7/11/2025Easy to get to from Pt Denarau, we were warmly greeted by beautiful singing and smiling faces. Bure 17 was fantastic. Close to everything but quiet and no-one walking past to get to their Bure. Magic sunsets, staff that couldn’t do enough for you. For what we paid for 5 nights and with the ‘breakfast included’, we looked forward to something special. It was not. I am not a “Karen” and am always honest , good and bad in reviews. The omelette was filling and delicious , which we both had the last 2 mornings after not good experiences trying different things the other 3 mornings. Considering there is only limited guests, the time to bring food was sometimes over 30 minutes. I wouldn’t have minded if we were getting something great. We had a couple of really delicious night time meals but the rest pretty average. The pizza was the winner for lunch and we shared a burger and chips one other day which was tasty. Got excited for Happy Hour which has the best view, but with $30 cocktails now $25 and $15 beers now $12….it wasn that Happy !! After coming from the Sofitel where happy hour was FREE beer and cocktails including canapés …..|Again, the staff were amazing. The karaoke Happy Hour was my favourite with everyone joining in to me having a go at singing. The free kayaks are a must do, with beauty in and out of the water. Beautiful place to go to relax, unwind , no children and be waited on hand and foot.|Stand out staff were Sonny, Izzy, Nai, Leah (my hubby paid her wage for the year), Epeli, Fi & Sherry.||One thing that really disappointed us, was the Manager of the resort was walking around or eating in the restaurant most nights and never once tried to interact with any guests. He could have introduced himself, asked if we were enjoying ourselves ? How is everything ? Found this very lack lustre. Lucky the staff made this holiday still amazing.PaulaQld7/10/2025Destination Perfect, Staff Amazing, Food average Easy to get to from Pt Denarau, we were warmly greeted by beautiful singing and smiling faces. We spent 5 nights here in June 2025 in a beachfront pool bure. It was heavenly and I feel lucky to have even been somewhere so beautiful. The water in the pool was too cool to enjoy but that did not subtract from the beauty of the views or feeling the warmth from the employees. The culture of the people is what makes Tropica so special. The staff is absolutely amazing and make you forget that they are getting paid to help you. They are so kind and genuine and truly care about their guests and the success of Tropica. Stay here. You will not regret it.Crystal Ross6/28/2025- Lovely location! The rooms have a fantastic view! In addition to the public pool, our room has a private plunge pool, which was convenient and a nice touch. All rooms have an amazing outdoor shower! Great water pressure with lots of hot water. The beds were very comfortable! The staff was incredible from the first minute to the last. Food was included. It was fantastic, and different every day. This was an experience that we will treasure, and we hope to return soon!Scott Mungo6/27/2025

Scott M6/25/2025We have visited Tropica 8 times over the last 12 years and every time there is thoroughly consistent and pleasurable. Little improvements are always visible. Staff attentiveness and proficiency just keeps getting better. There is a magic about Tropica that always refreshes our souls. The peace, tranquility and overall happiness is a delight. It is easily accessed, comfortable and rebuilds us.1osis26/24/2025We'll be back again We have visited Tropica 8 times over the last 12 years and every time there is thoroughly consistent and pleasurable. Robin D6/23/2025Perfect Couples Getaway We loved this adults only resort due to its friendly staff, smaller size, location and orientation. We stayed in a Beachfront Bure and you are literally 10m from the ocean when it is high tide. Countless hours sitting on the porch swing staring into the ocean or lazing on the sun lounges under the coconut palms reading a book and soaking up the sun.
We spent the mornings snorkelling around the bay and the scenery is amazing, big drop offs right in the bay you can swim out too. Evenings started with Happy Hour looking out over the setting sun across the ocean, always mesmerising, before enjoying dinner and a few more drinks (or Kava!).
As with most holidays you end up eating too much! We were expecting more fresh seafood to be on offer but the meals were fine.
The staff are so friendly and their bubbly nature creates a very fun vibe. They were always willing to help out with any of our needs.
Would definitely recommend and we plan to return again. Vinaka Tropica, we loved our stay!Ben C6/19/2025Two times the charm - Amazing Tropica Second time back to Tropica and had such a great holiday. We love how you can do as little or as much as you want the tranquility of this resort is amazing. Room was private and always clean with our own plunge pool.
I had some dietary requirements and the kitchen staff always went above and beyond it was like being at home with family.
Plenty of visits to the wonderful the spa to experience amazing relaxing massages
We had a chance to speak to the lovely guys running the place and they have a real passion for making Tropica an even better experience we can’t wait to go back again.
Special thanks to Viri, Francis, Junior, Esava, Sherry, Wati, Moses, Sue, Nai, Leah, Tito, Grace, Ziggy, Joe, David, Sonny, Fina, Laisa, Vee, Pana, Richard and Sam.
All the Tropica staff are amazing such generous loving people who really want to make sure your stay is a memorable one. VinakaJDub6/18/2025Fantastic,relaxing, sensational Sensational place for a holiday highly recommend this for a holiday that is awesome , with great food and such a quiet and peaceful environment , the staff went above and beyond what was expected of them and the food was sensational . A place I will return to.
Claudia F6/17/2025The perfect anniversary getaway! Tropica Island Resort has to be one of the best places we have ever stayed and the perfect location for us to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary! The staff are amazing and treat you like family! Being a boutique resort means you are not overwhelmed with dozens of other guests, in fact you tend to get to know your fellow guests! Stunning location, incredible food and the best people We will miss this place and the people until we are able to return! Cannot recommend this place highly enough ❤️
Warren L6/06/2025My spouse and I had a terrific three night stay. We were welcomed in Fiji style and felt cared for by every single staff member. Our bure was a beach view pool plunge that was spectacular. My critique is that there is no complimentary mosquito repellant given in the bure. When I inquired at the gift shop, I was told I had to buy it there. That's ridiculous. We had tons of mosquitoes at dusk at our bure. It made sunset something I dreaded at my bure, so we went to the restaurant instead because of the fans and moving air. My other disappointment was the lack of readily available fresh drinking water. We were allocated 2 one liter bottles per day and nothing more. That's unacceptable for a resort of this caliber. There could be other ways to provide water like filtered water, reverse osmosis, or simply give us more bottles upon request instead of paying $8 for one liter. We don't drink alcohol or soft drinks so we had to bring our own water to breakfast, lunch and dinner in order to avoid being charged. We ended up boiling our tea kettle water, letting it cool and then pouring it into used water bottles. For a resort of this caliber, that's shameful to have guests do this to avoid paying per bottle. OR, tell us ahead of time and we would have gladly purchased a case of waters at Denaru Port and brought it with us. I would definitely go back to this resort, but this aspect should be seriously considered by staff reading this review.Lisa Caprio5/28/2025
